Shaping the future of agentic web in Italy

Project NANDA

Project NANDA (Networked AI Agents in Decentralized Architecture) is an international initiative born at the MIT Media Lab aimed at developing an enabling infrastructure for a true “Internet of AI Agents”, which can communicate, collaborate and operate securely across organizations, platforms and communities.

To make its vision more concrete, the Project promotes the creation of a global network of communities and innovation hubs called “The Agentic Web: Innovation Council for Project NANDA”.

The mission

The mission of the Italy Chapter is to create an open, neutral and multi-stakeholder community dedicated to advancing the understanding, development and adoption of Agentic AI in Italy. The Italy Chapter will focus its research and community-building activities on the agentic city of the future, as a concrete laboratory and then expanding the perspective to a broader national and international context. Through collaboration between industry, academia, startups and institutions, the Chapter aims to accelerate experimentation, identify meaningful use cases and contribute to the evolution of technological, ethical and regulatory frameworks for decentralized AI agents.

Core activities

The Italy Chapter will promote:

  • Research and experimentation on decentralized AI agents and the agentic city of the future
  • Open-source contributions to the global Project NANDA ecosystem
  • Events, workshops and meetups to build the Italian community
  • Hackathons and innovation programs to develop practical use cases
  • Partnerships with companies, startups, universities and public institutions
  • Discussion on policy, ethics, governance and education around Agentic AI
