Designing an integrated sustainability platform

Verco needed a digital solution to support organizations on their path to net-zero emissions. The challenge was to bring together different aspects of sustainability management - initiatives, forecasting, and performance tracking - into one cohesive experience. The platform had to make a complex subject such as carbon accounting and net-zero pathways clear and accessible, while also offering the flexibility to be adopted as separate modules or as a single integrated system. At the same time, scalability was essential to ensure that the solution could adapt to organizations at different stages of their sustainability journey.

OUR SOLUTION

A cloud native multi module application

BIP xTech’s data visualization team, The Visual Agency, developed MyVerco, a SaaS platform integrating three dashboards:

• MyProjects to manage and monitor sustainability initiatives.
• MyPathways to visualize emission reduction scenarios and future projections.
• MyPerformance to track and optimize energy consumption (gas, electricity, water).

Through user workshops and a rigorous UI/UX design process, the dashboards were developed around a coherent design system, ensuring consistency and future scalability. The application is served as a multi-tenant cloud native architecture, powered by micro frontends that connect to different API gateways and then consume domain oriented microservices. Data is ingested using big data platforms, to enable high volume throughput and native integration capabilities. The result is an enterprise platform that simplifies sustainability management while remaining flexible, scalableand customizable.
